Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The first album she released for the label on Oct. 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she was able to begin gaining attention. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out in May 2019. Ari Lennox posted her debut songs online in the year 2012. She dropped five singles in 2013 and Five Finger Discount in 2013 and Ariography EP in 2013. The singer continued uploading her songs online throughout 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. In 2015, she performed on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album with the track "Sweat it out" on July 21. Later that year her music was circulating around the Dreamville team, as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some references for Rihanna. In December, it was revealed 8th, that she'd joined Dreamville Records. She was featured in the album collaboration Revenge of the Dreamers II which featured the track Backseat alongside Cozz. In October 21, 2016, the artist released her debut album titled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song. She also performed at the opening of with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. Also, she was featured on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus with Bas and her labelmates. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video which debuted on September 5. On November 9 she released two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November, 13 the singer released two new singles entitled The No One and Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, the 26th of February, 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared along with Cole as part of The Creed II sound track on November 16. On February 20, 2019 an official music video released for the song. The track has received nearly three million views on YouTube during its initial week. In December of 2018 she performed on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
